Construction Updates and Road Projects When pipeline construction is likely to disrupt traffic, a public information program is initiated to alert drivers about LOTT's construction plans. A newsletter is periodically produced by staff to keep affected individuals informed about significant upcoming construction activities and planned traffic disruptions. Copies are made available here on the LOTT website, or via email by request. For large projects on major roads, news releases are sent to The Olympian and local radio stations, and electronic signs are used to alert traffic to disruptions ahead.
Mottman Road Interceptor Replacement Project LOTT is completing a project to replace a sewer interceptor pipeline that has been threatened by erosion along Percival Creek near Old Mottman Court. Construction work will affect the roadway of Old Mottman Court. Access to nearby businesses, including Gymnastics Elite and Alexis Driving School, will be provided with a temporary detour adjacent to the roadway. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2010. Deschutes Parkway to Tumwater Reclaimed Water Pipeline The LOTT Alliance is building a new reclaimed water pipeline along Deschutes Parkway to Tumwater the first step to completing a pipeline that will eventually carry reclaimed water to LOTT’s recharge basins on Henderson Boulevard, Rixie Road, and further south. The project includes four separate phases. All of the work associated with the four phases of this project is being coordinated with the City of Olympia, City of Tumwater, and the State Department of General Administration to minimize disruptions and traffic impacts.
Education Center and Business Offices Construction LOTT is constructing a new building to house the Education Center and Business Offices, and remodeling an existing building to house an expanded Water Quality Laboratory. The new building will be located on the southern edge of the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant property, on the northeast corner of the intersection of Adams Street and Thurston Avenue. Due to the construction, the main entrance to the plant is closed to public access. Visitors may enter the plant at gate 4 on Franklin Street; a camera and telephone located at gate 4, allows LOTT staff to assist visitors and open the gate remotely.
